Day 1: Sunday - Brisbane to Longreach

Join your QantasLink flight in Brisbane for the two‐hour flight to Longreach. On arrival you will be met by our Outback Aussie Tour’s representative and transferred to your accommodation for the next two nights. Tonight enjoy a great welcome to Longreach at the Outback Stockman’s Dinner & Show.  2 nights Longreach Motor Inn, Longreach

Day 2: Monday - Longreach

Discover the inspiring stories of our pioneering heroes at the Australian Stockman’s Hall of Fame. Enjoy a relaxed homestead lunch at Rosebank Station, the family home of Outback Aussie Tours’ owners Alan & Sue Smith. Visit the world-class Qantas Founders Museum, which tells the story of the founding of Qantas. Late afternoon, unwind on the Drover’s Sunset Cruise with tasty on‐board nibbles platters.  Then take your seat at Smithy’s Outback Dinner & Show; savour a mouthwatering two‐course dinner under the stars as you watch the entertainment live on the River Stage.

Day 3: Tuesday - Cloncurry

Head north to the tiny outback town of McKinlay to the Walkabout Creek Hotel, our lunch stop. This iconic pub featured in the blockbuster movie Crocodile Dundee. Arriving in Cloncurry, you’ll visit Cloncurry Unearthed Museum; the star exhibit is Robert O’Hara Burke’s water bottle, along with history and photographs of the Burke & Wills expedition. At John Flynn Place, learn the story of how this great pioneer began the Royal Flying Doctor Service.  Overnight Gidgee Inn, Cloncurry

Day 4: Wednesday - Lawn Hill National Park

In Mount Isa, affectionately know as the ‘Oasis of the Outback’, we visit Outback at Isa for a fascinating insight into the town’s early days.  Step back some 30 million years at the Riversleigh Fossil Centre, with its captivating interpretations into early mammal mega fauna development. A real visual treat awaits you at Boodjamulla (Lawn Hill) National Park, with its spectacular gorges and sandstone ranges.   2 nights Adels Grove, outside Lawn Hill National Park

Day 5: Thursday - Lawn Hill National Park

View this remarkable gorge system on the ‘Cruise Lawn Hill Gorge’ sightseeing tour. Walk and cruise amongst the towering red pillars steeped in the Aboriginal legend of ‘Boodjamulla’.  Delight in the picturesque views overlooking Indarri Falls and the Gorge system, or take a refreshing swim in nature’s incredible Tufa rock spa bath.  Tonight we celebrate sunset with drinks and nibbles at Harry’s Lookout.

Day 6: Friday - Karumba

Today, we’ll drive northeast to Karumba with a stop enroute at Leichardt Falls, a plunge waterfall on the Leichardt River. You’ll be impressed with tonight’s Gulf sunset where the outback meets the sea at Karumba’s Sunset Tavern Dinner; always a highlight of our Gulf Savannah adventures.  2 nights End of the Road Motel, Karumba

Day 7: Saturday - Karumba

Find out everything you ever wanted to know about the barramundi on a fascinating guided tour of the Barramundi Discovery Centre. You can even hand‐feed a ‘barra’ at this unique hatchery and breeding centre. Cruise the Port of Karumba estuary and enjoy a special dining highlight – the ‘Sand Island, Seafood at Sunset Experience.’ Feast on fresh seafood as the sun sets over the Gulf of Carpentaria.

Day 8: Sunday - Cobbold Gorge

Travel to Normanton for a nostalgic ride on the famous Gulflander or ‘tin hare’ as it is affectionately known. Visit the historic gold mining townships of Croydon and Georgetown then travel to the hidden outback oasis, Cobbold Gorge. Take advantage of your two night stay on this Savannah Guide Station, a working cattle property with a spectacular sandstone gorge and resort style facilities.   2 nights Cobbold Gorge Village

Day 9: Monday - Cobbold Gorge

Today you’ll join a three‐hour tour of the property and its rugged sandstone formations. The tour includes an optional guided bushwalk to the top of the escarpment with magnificent views of the gorge below. Glide on custom‐made, electric powered boats in almost spiritual silence through the dramatic sandstone walled gorge. Keep an eye out for fresh water crocodiles.

Day 10: Tuesday - Mt Surprise

Travel to Forsayth for morning tea at the Goldfields Tavern. Forsayth was once paved in gold – in a manner of speaking; it was known as the ‘Poor Man’s Goldfield’ because prospectors didn’t need expensive equipment to search for gold.  Continue on to Einasleigh for lunch at the Einasleigh Hotel, a great example of a typical Aussie pub. While there, take a look at the publican’s personal collection of around 400 pieces of miniature dolls’ furniture; made exactly to scale! It’s just a short walk from the pub to the beautiful Copperfield Gorge. Tonight enjoy the relaxing dining atmosphere of Bedrock Village’s outdoor dining area and campfire camaraderie.   2 nights Bedrock Village, Mt Surprise

Day 11: Wednesday - Undara Experience

Today you’ll visit Undara National Park. ‘Undara’ is an Aboriginal word meaning ‘long way.’  The park protects one of the longest lava tube cave systems in the world dating back some 190,000 years. Our visit includes a two hour guided tour of one of the largest Lava Tubes where you’ll learn about the interesting environmental, geological and historical features of the region. This tour is designed as an easy fitness level with wooden boardwalks and steps.

Day 12: Thursday - Cairns

Join the vintage Savannahlander rail journey, a highly personalised tour sitting alongside the train drivers in a 1960’s classic “silver‐bullet” railmotor.
